AP’s microsites now offering video and audio to drive more traffic to your sites

AP is now offering video and audio on the College Football Digital News EPicture1xperience, and more video will be appearing on the other DNEs in the months ahead. This is yet another example of the content exclusive to the DNEs, which helps drive traffic — and therefore revenue — to the participating sites.

VIDEO

We’ve created a video page that will highlight all AP videos related to College Football at http://collegefootball.ap.org/videos

Our new partnership with Cinesport also has led to a strong lineup of related videos that involve the Cinesport team interviewing featured AP Sports journalists about their reporting. AP’s national college football writer, Ralph Russo, has produced at least 2-3 videos each week around the release of the AP Top 25 poll and his weekly picks for the upcoming weekend. The clips are embedded in the stories and will soon also be showcased on the video page as well.

Here’s an example from this week’s picks with Ralph’s Cinesport video midway down the page: http://collegefootball.ap.org/article/ap-top-25-picks-time-whittle-field-contenders

Here’s a link to Ralph’s piece with video on the first CFP rankings: http://collegefootball.ap.org/article/clemson-lsu-ohio-state-alabama-top-1st-playoff-rankings

AUDIO

With the release of the CFP rankings this week, we will be producing a weekly podcast on Fridays called the Playoff Pulse that’s moderated by Ralph and involves other AP college football beat writers.
