Minchillo named AP photographer in Cincinnati

John Minchillo has been named AP’s photographer in Cincinnati, succeeding Al Behrman, who has retired.

Minchillo, 29, has been freelancing for the AP’s New York City metro bureau since 2011. During that time, he has provided exemplary coverage of events such as Hurricane Irene, Superstorm Sandy, the Occupy Wall Street demonstrations, the United Nations, fashion, professional and college sports and a wide variety of breaking news assignments.

Minchillo is a graduate of Binghamton University-State University of New York. He begins Featured imagework in Cincinnati on May 1 and can be reached at JMinchillo@ap.org.
